|The Sound of Music will come alive in Bandon, Oregon|
The Bandon Playhouse in conjunction with the 10th Anniversary Year of the Sprague Community Theater will come alive with The Sound of Music. Running for three weekends starting February 19th and going thru March 7th, this classic and endearing musical is based on the book The Story of the Trapp Family Singers. It features an unforgettable Rodgers and Hammerstein score, including “My Favorite Things,” “Do-Re-Mi” and “Climb Every Mountain.”
A spirited young postulant named Maria is sent to serve as a governess for Captain Von Trapp, a widower with seven children. Her unorthodox methods quickly win over the children but clash with the regimental conduct the Captain insists upon.
Bandon Playhouse President Paul Hay said, “What should be the happy ending after the fairytale romance—the lonely mountain girl gets her prince—is delayed by the invasion of Austria. The happy ending does come however, when they escape.”
The Bandon Playhouse is also very excited about offering BRAND NEW LOWER ticket pricing to start off their 34th Season. The members of the Bandon Playhouse and the community have shared their concerns with the economy being the way it is and that they are afraid that a lot of families will not be able to attend this great show, said Paul. So we listen and lowered our ticket prices to accommodate their requests. Tickets prices for the Sound of Music will be $12 for Adults, $10 for Seniors and Students with IDs and only $8 for Children (12 and under). bandonplayhouse.org
