This is a fun Oregon Coast event for spectators and participants. It all begins just after the early morning high tide and ends as the next high tide reclaims the beach.

Since 1964, Cannon Beach Sandcastle Day has grown to be one of the largest sand building contests on the West Coast. Sand sculptures, castles, and drawings are hand constructed and then awards are presented. There are several age divisions, from children through Masters.

The emphasis is on fun. Contestants pre-register online as individuals or as teams by age group and are judged not only on the finished product, but also on enthusiasm and teamwork
