Art Quilter Cynthia Corbin on Display at Cannon Beach History Center and Museum |
|
“Small Conversations: 14 Small Works by Cynthia Corbin” will be showing at Cannon Beach History Center and Museum from August 9 to November 20, 2009. Art quilter Cynthia Corbin sees her work as an eclectic personal expression based on the classical form of the quilt. Drawing on her love of both folk art and abstract art, she explores dyeing and painting, intensive machine quilting, and a problem solving, seat of the pants approach to quilt construction.
Cynthia Corbin’s art quilts have been published and exhibited throughout the United States and Europe, in such exhibitions as Visions, Quilt National, CraftForms, and Fiberart International. She lectures and teaches nationally, applying her passion to the development of each student’s individual voice.
The History Center and Museum is open Wednesday through Monday, from 1-5 PM, and located at the corner of Spruce & Sunset Streets. Please contact CBHCM at 503-436-9301 for more information, or visit cbhistory.org
