For the tenth year, the $35 annual passport will be sold for $30 during the month of December, according to Mike Harvey, Siuslaw National Forest Recreation Staff Officer. The passports are valid for all day-use and parking fees at Oregon State Parks, Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management and National Park Service sites along the Oregon Coast. The passes are sold at coastal state parks, federal agency offices and local vendors in several coastal communities. Passes are also available at the Siuslaw Forest Headquarters in Corvallis. The annual passport is valid for a full year from the date of purchase and covers day-use and parking fees at more than 20 sites along the entire length of the Oregon coast. There is also a five-day passport, costing $10, ideal for people visiting the coast for just a short time. “The $5 discount on the annual pass allows local residents to get a little break on the price and makes giving the pass as a holiday gift an even more attractive deal,” added Harvey. Revenues from passport sales remain at the local level and help operate, maintain and enhance recreation facilities and services managed by the four participating agencies. Pass revenues supplement regular budgets and allow coastal sites to provide higher levels of service than would otherwise be possible. “One pass that covers day-use and parking fees at places like Fort Clatsop, the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, all the beautiful coastal State Parks, Cape Perpetua Visitor Center and Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area is a tremendous value, as well as a tremendous convenience for visitors,” said Harvey. “It’s a great way for us all to help take care of these wonderful places that make the Oregon Coast so special.” Passes can be purchased at the following locations from Mon – Fri, 8:00 – 4:00: Hebo Ranger District Cape Perpetua Visitor Center Waldport Office – Central Coast Ranger District Siuslaw National Forest Headquarters Florence Office-Central Coast Ranger District Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area-Central Coast Ranger District Contacts: |
