Phil Carver of Salem, the co-coordinator of the walk, said he wants to focus attention on climate change, sea level rise and the movement to reduce carbon dioxide in the atmosphere to 350 parts per million, a level considered "safe" in terms of global changes.

A group of Oregon residents are walking 350 miles along the Oregon Coast from Sunset Bay State Park south of Coos Bay to Portland to highlight climate change.
