Oregon's Fish and Wildlife Commission unanimously approved rules today for two pilot marine reserves off Newport and Port Orford.
The rules bar fishing, hunting, pipelines and telecommunications cables in Oregon's first reserves, but allow removing crab pots that have drifted into the area, conducting scientific research and boating through the protected areas.
