Hundreds of surfers -- beginner to advanced -- descended upon Oregon Coast surf spots in unprecedented numbers, shocking long-time regulars.

"There are 100 people in the water," said Dana Love, the founder of ProMotion, a Hood River-based wetsuit company, and an Oregon surfer of 20 years.
