Daily Haiku pomes will then be stamped in the sand waiting to be discovered. 300 Sky Lanterns will be released on Sunday at sundown.
When lit, the flame heats the air inside the lantern causing the lantern to rise into the air approximately one mile. It is considered good luck to release a sky lantern, and many believe they are symbolic of problems and worries floating away. All sky lantern sales benefit the Children's Cancer Association. The lanterns will be lit in memory of and to honor loved who have fought or are fighting cancer. A powerful demonstration of strength and hope will illuminate the night sky and reflect upon the sea! Some species of Sea Turtles love to eat jellyfish. Plastic shopping bags look like jellyfish when in the water and are often eaten.
Sky Lanterns are airborne paper lanterns made of oiled rice paper on bamboo frames containing fuel cells composed of flammable soy oil. Sky lanterns are completely biodegradable.
