Plastic-JellyfishSome species of Sea Turtles love to eat jellyfish. Plastic shopping bags look like jellyfish when in the water and are often eaten.

Calling attention to this problem, Eco-Artist Nancy Judd, the creator of Recycle Runway, will be constructing a dress from trash bags to look like jellyfish as part of the ArtSea Festival and Street Fair in the historic Taft District of Lincoln City, Oregon

Art Sea Festival and Street Fair will include vendors from across the Pacific Northwest, music, food, caricatures, workshops and fun for the whole family! There will be Music by Colin Spring , Adam+Kris, Jacob Merlin and Retroactive Gamma Rays

While visiting City Tim will be creating interactive and collaborative opportunities for tourists and residents to participate in. The focus of Tim's work will be Conservation. Tim will engage the community in eco issues and collective self-reflection.

Tim's events include: "Self-Portrait as Revealed by Trash" on Display at The P.J Chessman Gallery. Haiku collection stations along the beach waiting for your comments and ideas. Daily Haiku pomes will then be stamped in the sand waiting to be discovered.
Trash Sculpture of found materials from the beach. An Eco Pledge and Confessional Wall Collage.

300 Sky Lanterns will be released on Sunday at sundown.

skylanternsSky Lanterns are airborne paper lanterns made of oiled rice paper on bamboo frames containing fuel cells composed of flammable soy oil. Sky lanterns are completely biodegradable.

When lit, the flame heats the air inside the lantern causing the lantern to rise into the air approximately one mile. It is considered good luck to release a sky lantern, and many believe they are symbolic of problems and worries floating away. All sky lantern sales benefit the Children's Cancer Association.

The lanterns will be lit in memory of and to honor loved who have fought or are fighting cancer. A powerful demonstration of strength and hope will illuminate the night sky and reflect upon the sea!
