Kite fliers from across the Northwest will be gathered at the D-River State Wayside for the 33nd annual Fall Kite Festival in Lincoln City, Oregon.
A celebration of both professional and leisure kite fliers with some of the most colorful big "show kites" in the world.
The featured fliers at the festival will demonstrate their flying skills throughout the weekend. Team Island Quad will be the center of attention with their Revolution quad-line kites.
There will also be a mega fly of quad-line kites. If you have always wanted to fly in a grid, this is your chance. We will also mic the lead kiteflier, Terry Wiggill, so the audience will have a chance to experience how the grid is worked.
It should be a lot of fun to see all the kites in the sky at the same time. During the Summer Kite Festival there was a mega fly of 29 kites, let's see if we can make it larger!

Kite Festival Scheduled activities include:
Kite flying demonstrations by experts including Connor Doran, a finalist in 2010 America's Got Talent. Connor brought indoor kite flying to the world.
Kitemaking Workshop with PhantomStarDesign.com Kitemaking for Kids Make your own, then see it fly.
Rokkaku Mass Ascension & Battle All quadline fliers will put their kites in the air at the same time to create a "Quad-Invasion". Individuals compete to "cut" or "ground" opposing kites. All contestants fly together. The winner is the last individual with a kite remaining in the contest.
Kids Parade After making their kites, the kids parade down to the beach.
The fun begins at 10 a.m. and runs through 4 p.m. each day.
