Dog's, Microbrew & Music
Why a brew festival for dogs? Why not? The festival was created in memory of Brewer, the faithful companion of Rogue Brewmaster John Maier, who passed away on May 20th, 2006. Brewer grew up in the brewery and eventually rose to the rank of CEO of Rogue Ales. Brewer was, is, an integral part of the Rogue Culture and we miss him dearly. Nobody would have enjoyed a brew festival for dogs more so than Brewer. It is in his honor that for two days a year we welcome dogs and their human companions to our brewery and celebrate with the best microbrew, music, and food that also benefits the Oregon Humane Society and other dog charities. Join us! The 4th Annual Brewers Memorial Ale Fest will be held in Newport and will benefit the Central Coast Humane Society and Oregon Coast Therapy Animals. Last year 3,200 people and 810 of their best friends attended the festival. The festival was created in memory of Rogue Brewmaster John Maier's faithful companion Brewer, who passed away on May 20, 2006.
