|Jellyfish Jubilee: A Celebration of Food and Wine at the Oregon Coast Aquarium September 22, 2012|
Excitement is building as the area's top restaurants get ready for the Aquarium's fund raiser.
The event, benefiting the Aquarium's exhibits and education programs, offering an evening of Northwest cuisine and wines as well as a silent auction and live music.
The 5th annual Jellyfish Jubilee
A Celebration of Food and Wine will fill the Aquarium with the aromas, tastes and sounds of exceptional Northwest cuisine, wines, music and a silent auction benefitting the Aquarium's exhibits and education programs.
Enjoy a feast for all of the senses in this 21 and older elegant affair.
The all-inclusive event will also provide an opportunity to see the Aquarium's new Swampland exhibit, which opened Memorial Day weekend, 2011.
The lineup so far features some of the region's finest culinary establishments, including Quimby's Restaurant, Local Ocean Seafoods, Savory Café & Pizzeria, Nana's Irish Pub, Georgie's Beachside Grill, The Bay House, and Chinook Winds. Many more are expected to join the fold as the event date draws near.
Featured wineries will include Sokol Blosser, Duck Pond, Edenvale and Adelsheim Vineyard to date, with more to come.
The evening will also include live music with jazz from Perpetua, animal encounters, interpretive dives, and behind the scenes tours of the Aquarium. Chefs and vintners have been anticipating the opportunity to share their passion for extraordinary food and wine during this unique event surrounded by the shimmering waters of the Aquarium.
Silent Auction items so far include a float plane flight for two around the Willamette Valley, three days of golf at The Oregon Golf Club, Pumpkin Ridge and Persimmon, an Oregon coast package that includes stay at Oregon Coast beach home, and visits to the Hatfield Marine Science Center and Oregon Coast Aquarium a Salishan package, a Romance Package at Hotel Monaco, a cooking class for two from Lincoln City Culinary Center, four President Box seats at 2011 Bach festival from the University of Oregon, golf for four at Chamber's Bay and the Home Course; overnight stay at Hotel Murano in Tacoma and many other items including coastal lodging, magnums of fine wine and restaurant packages.
Tickets for admission to the event are $100. Aquarium members qualify for a 10% discount
