Halloween Celebration at the Oregon Coast Aquarium
Newport

Creatures-2_000"Creatures of the Day" is for younger goblins

"Creatures of the Night" for seasoned ghouls

A fun day of games, face painting and activities for the youngsters and a night of scary Halloween activities for the more brave of heart.

After a one-year hiatus, the Oregon Coast Aquarium's annual Halloween event, "Creatures of the Night," will creep back into the Aquarium with a slightly different format. There will be a gentler event during the day for younger goblins during "Creatures of the Day" .

The Aquarium will then close its doors from 4 to 6:30 pm and quietly mutate into an ominous landscape with haunted caves and foggy courtyards summoning the more fearless ghouls for the annual soiree of the sinister, "Creatures of the Night" from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.

The event, which will collect food and money for Food Share of Lincoln County and the Lincoln County Animal Shelter, offers reduced admission with a donation of two items of non-perishable food. "We invite families to enjoy a day and evening of celebration with the goal to help replenish the food pantry at our local Food Share," said Kandy Smith, Aquarium Events Manager. "Times are difficult for many families and we'd like to ask everyone to be extra generous in their food donations this year."

"Creatures of the Day"

10 am – 4 pm
Costume contest, bake sale (proceeds to Lincoln County Animal Shelter), spooky divers, face painting, follow the maze, bean bag games, enter the candy corn counting contest, and "go green" treats and candy.

"Creatures of the Night"

6:30 – 8:30 pm
Older kids can follow the "paths of scare" where brave hearts will encounter spooks and creatures in four separate scary areas along the way. Spooky divers will be in the shark tunnel.
