The Oregon Coast Aquarium is offering activities to chase away the winter blahs this month, including Valentine's Day sea lion kisses, "Pop the Question" special for sweethearts, a birthday party for Hunter, the sea otter and special children's programs.

"Pop the Question" Special is a unique marriage proposal being offered to would-be grooms looking for a memorable way to pop the question. Two divers emerge from one of the Passages of the Deep tanks holding up a sign asking "Will You Marry Me?" The proposals are available February 12, 13 and 14 at the following times: 10:30 am, 11:30 am and 12:30 pm. Reservations can be made by calling 541-867-3474 ext. 2313.

Sea lion kisses are part of a special Valentine's Day sea lion encounter offered February 12 and 14 including a behind-the-scenes look at the Aquarium's pinnipeds and a kiss from one of our sea lions. Reservations can be made by calling (541) 867-3474, Ext. 2313.

Hunter, the sea otter celebrates his 13th birthday February 16 and will be treated to "sea otter cupcakes" in the main pool after the 1pm feed. Staff members and visitors will sing happy birthday as he receives his birthday treat. Hunter's birthday party is free with Aquarium admission.

Children's Programs:

Killer Whale Tales February 11 & 12 is a unique program that combines storytelling with science activities that challenge children to take the conservation of Oregon's resident Orcas into their own hands. To register, call (541) 867-3474, Ext. 5301 weekdays between 9 am and 5 pm.

Sea Squirts, "Shiny Shells" February 11 for 2-3 year olds and parents, is a morning of fun where they will meet and explore ocean critters who carry their homes wherever they roam. To register, call (541) 867-3474, Ext. 5301 weekdays between 9 am and 5 pm.
