Today, March 24 2010, was a beautiful 67 degree day on the Rouge River whereupon we set out once again to enjoy Steelhead fishing under the tutelage of our always excellent guide, Travis Malone.
I was first up.
Then it was Andrea's turn with another 8lbs fish breaking water several times.
Andrea's Fight
After Travis and Andrea showed off her catch (one of several), we noted Turkey vultures perched in a tree next to the river. One of them was "fanning" or standing in a spead-winged stance.
The stance is believed to serve multiple functions: drying the wings, warming the body, and baking off bacteria. It is practiced more often following damp or rainy nights. Visit The Doc Is In blog |
