The fisherman that caught a Great White Shark off the Oregon Coast in August was given a non-criminal citation of $299 for unlawful possession.
The fisherman told wildlife officers the shark had gotten entangled in their crab gear and was pulled to the surface when they were bringing up a pot and had been gutted so it could be eaten. “If our trooper wasn't at the right place at the right time then we believe he would have unlawfully kept the shark for his own personal interests," director of the OSP Fish & Wildlife Division Captain Walt Markee said.We had the opportunity to see the 12 foot Great White Shark just before Biologists at the Hatfield Marine Science Center performed their autopsy. |
