Waldport
Waldport is located on the Alsea River and Alsea Bay, 18 miles south of Newport and 8 miles north of Yachats.
Waldport has miles of sandy ocean beaches, forest roads, hiking trails, wilderness areas and, of course, the Alsea Bay. The Alsea Bay has been designated as an “Important Bird Area” by the National Audubon Society. Be sure to visit the Alsea Bay Interpretive Center.
If you enjoy windsurfing, kayaking, boating, fishing, sailing, hiking or cycling...or if you just like to wander around on the beach, Waldport will suit your taste. There is also a family owned, family friendly golf course a Skateboard Park, a surf shop, good food and antique stores.

Local artists, whose work has been inspired by the Oregon coastal region, will share their techniques and their visions during the fourth annual Fall Creek Festival Nov. 6, 2010 at the Oregon Hatchery Research Center near Alsea.
“This is a unique opportunity for people to see nature and the natural world through the eyes of an artist, and to then create a piece of art that reflects their own perspective,” said Joseph O’Neil, OHRC senior technician.
